Chesapeake Shores made all to take the first race at Killarney on Monday evening under jockey Chris Hayes for owners Mrs Nagle, Mrs Nicoll, Mrs Magnier & Mrs Shanahan.

Having run well at the Curragh on debut in May, the daughter of Camelot was drawn on the rail in stall one. She was sent straight to the front and battled on gamely to land the 1m3f maiden in good style. A half-sister to Gr.1 Irish Derby winner Frozen Fire, she was purchased at the Goffs Orby Sale for €70,000.

“It was important she won as she is a half-sister to Frozen Fire who won the Irish Derby. We’ll chat to the owners to see whether or not she’ll run again, and we’ll see if there are any races over 1m 4f for her coming up. It’s good she has won today and that is mission accomplished.” Fozzy Stack.
