Back To Brussels won impressively on debut at Navan on Sunday when taking the Irish EBF Fillies Maiden for owners David Keoghan and the Partners Partnership.

Ridden by Chris Hayes, Back To Brussels made headway two furlongs out, leading just inside the final furlong and kept on well in the closing stages.

A daughter of Starspangledbanner, Back To Brussels was purchased at the 2018 Goffs Orby Sale for €105,000 by De Burgh Equine and was bred by HRI Chairman Nicky Hartery.

“She has been going nicely at home. She hasn’t been away anywhere but she quickened up well and she did it well. She has plenty of speed, those Starspangledbanners seem to be quick.

“Royal Ascot is the plan and whether she goes straight there or has a run beforehand, I’m not sure yet. There is a possible race for her at Naas, or else the Marble Hill.

“I have about 30 two-year-olds and they have been running alright so far. We seem to have quite a nice bunch in general. Hopefully there is a couple that might keep us in lights for a little bit!” Fozzy Stack.
