Drumquina battled well to win her maiden at Naas on Wednesday evening under jockey Andrew Slattery for owner/breeder Jane Rowlinson.
Having finished third on her previous run, Drumquina made all from stall one, was headed briefly inside the last furlong but battled on well to score in good style.
A daughter of Holy Roman Emperor, Drumquina became the seventh winner out of Gr.1 Moyglare victor and Gr.1 Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Tarascon.
“That’s the last filly out of the mare. I’m delighted to have a winner for Jane (Rowlinson) who has been a great supporter of the yard.” Fozzy Stack
Jockey Andrew Slattery also commented after the race “I had a little moment of worry a furlong down. Billy (Lee) came to me and all she has done is grinded and grinded. I’m happy that she’s broken her maiden.
“She’s a tough hardy filly. Her mother is a champion so hopefully there is more to come from her.”
