Already an impressive maiden winner at Cork earlier in the year, Lady Wannabe ran out a stylish winner of the Listed Vincent O’Brien Ruby Stakes at Killarney on Saturday for owners Mrs Tom Gaffney & Mrs Barbara Murphy.
Sent off favourite, Lady Wannabe was prominent leaving the stalls and raced on the outside for jockey Chris Hayes. Hitting the front a furlong and a half from home, she kept up the gallop to win comfortably by a length and three quarters.
“She won it well and I’d say she is improving with age and her mother got better with age too.
“She travelled well, picked up well and quickened well. She seems to get 1m2f as well so has plenty options and is in the Blandford on Champions Weekend.
“She needs goodish ground and thankfully it dried up a bit.” Fozzy Stack.
By Camelot, Lady Wannabe was bred by Churchtown House Stud who offer her half-sister by Galileo at the Tattersalls Book 1 yearling sale.
