Olympic Legend, ridden by Wayne Lordan for the Next Pension Fund Syndicate, broke his maiden at Naas on Wednesday.

Similar ‘Pension Fund’ silks have been a familiar sight on the race track before, with the likes of Nero Emperor, Van Rooney, Onenightidreamed etc. winning in them in recent years.

Olympic Legend was never far away on this occasion, he led inside the final furlong and kept on well.

“He was idling a small bit with me and drifting out a bit to the right,” said Lordan.

“He stays well. He shows a bit more pace at home and we thought he wanted a shorter trip. As he started running we started to realise it was further he wanted. He keeps going well.” (www.irishracing.com)
