Diamonds Fields got off the mark yesterday evening in the 6f maiden at Dundalk. She tracked the leaders early, 5th at halfway, made smooth progress into the straight, travelled well to challenge 1f out, led 150 yards out and kept on well to win by 1/2l.
Dr Doro deservedly got off the mark yesterday at the Curragh when winning the concluding 5f nursery handicap. Wayne Lordan had the filly in front all the way and kept on well to win by a comfortable 3 1/2 lengths.
Tooreen Legend landed the Ladies Derby today at The Curragh going 1 place better than last year’s 2nd place. Nina Carberry had her mount always handy, was 2nd 2f out, challenged in the straight, led from 2f out and kept on well under a strong drive to prevail by 1 1/4 lengths.
