Piece Of Paradise provided the yard with another big-race victory at Ayr winning the Listed Harry Rosebery Stakes for owners Michael O’Flynn, Mrs Paul Shanahan and Mrs John Magnier on Friday.
A maiden winner at Tipperary in August, Piece Of Paradise finished fourth behind Mums Tipple in the valuable Goffs UK Premier Yearling Stakes at York on her previous start.
Running over 5f. on this occasion under jockey Chris Hayes Piece Of Paradise powered home to win the Listed contest by a length and led home a 1-2-3 for the Irish.
“I’m delighted with her. She ran well at York, and the winner of that race is obviously very good.
“I thought she was a bit overpriced today, to be honest. She’s done it well.” Fozzy Stack.
Last year saw Son Of Rest dead-heat in the Ayr Gold Cup becoming the first Irish-trained horse to land the spoils. Other winners for the yard at the Scottish track include Sugar Free who won the Listed Land O’Burns Fillies’ Stakes in 2009.
