Star Of Cashel defied top-weight to win the www.Roscommonracecourse.ie Handicap by 6 lengths on Tuesday for his owners Peter Piller, Mrs Paul Shanahan & Mrs M V Magnier having won at Naas the previous Saturday.

Completing the first leg of a double for the yard at Naas the son of No Nay Never made light of the 6lb penalty he received for that success and went on to win comfortably here at Roscommon.

“He’s a grand horse and has done it well. It was a good bit of placing by Fozzy as he got 7lb so he was 1lb well-in.

“He handled conditions well and is a very genuine and clear-winded horse. He normally only does enough but I think he’s improving with racing.

“Fozzy’s horses are running well and hopefully we can keep it going.” jockey Chris Hayes.
