Tooreen Angel recored her second success at Dundalk Stadium on Friday evening, justifying favouritism to win on her handicap debut for owner James Martin O’Brien.
Ridden by Mark Enright, the daughter of Battle Of Marengo raced towards the rear of the field, made headway from two furlongs out and was delivered late to win by a head.
“She was good. You’d think the draw was a positive but she likes a bit of space and being drawn three I just wanted to get out a little bit.
“We went a good gallop but steadied up a little bit down the back and around the bottom bend. I was just conscious of that and wanted to make a bit of ground.
“She stuck to it well and is a good honest filly. You wouldn’t want to be getting there too soon with her so it was ideal. Hopefully she’ll win another one.” jockey, Mark Enright.
