Casla stuck to the task well when fourth on her debut at Leopardstown. However, she was far more alert on Friday when winning her maiden at the Curragh by an impressive 3 lengths.

Well positioned throughout, Chris Hayes never panicked when the runner-up, Curly Girl kicked for home but stamina seemed to win on the day.

“She did it nicely and learned a lot from Leopardstown. She is a good, tough, honest filly and should stay further as her mother (Front House) won a South African Oaks. We will try to get her some black type.” Fozzy Stack

A 3-year-old daughter of Fastnet Rock, Casla is owned by Mary Slack and Mrs John Magnier. She is out of Front House, who herself won a South African Oaks, and is a full-sister to Balcony who has also won for the owners.
