Acrux Cass provided a double for the yard on Saturday when landing the Dan Cowman Memorial Maiden at Tramore under jockey Billy Lee.

Beaten a short head on his previous start at Killarney, Acrux Cass came with a late run to break his maiden in good style for owner/breeder Arunas Cicenas.

“He was great and settled away lovely here today. He progressed from his last run at Killarney. I had mentioned it after Killarney that he should come here, and it’s worked out well. He did it well and is progressing away. He will be a lovely horse going that little bit further” jockey, Billy Lee.

The son of Footstepsinthesand was following Tooreen Katie’s success in the first race of the day at Tramore.
